A stronger Antioch for everyone.
In 2020, District 1 elected me to the Antioch City Council with a mandate for change. In 2022, our community trusted me again. I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the district I call home.
I first ran for City Council because I believed Antioch’s families deserved leadership that would listen, take action, and fight for people too often left out of important decisions. Since then, I have brought the same determination I developed as a mother, grandmother, community organizer, and advocate into City Hall.
Together, we have made real progress. Since I've been in office:
I have championed investments in community-based violence prevention, including securing $3.9 million to address gun violence through prevention and intervention programs. I supported creating a city department focused on youth development, environmental justice, community resources, a mobile mental health crisis response team, unhoused resident services, and Antioch’s first civilian police oversight body. This department has pursued over $75 million in State and federal grants and has secured over $25 million to continue our efforts to reimagine public safety in Antioch.
I also helped advance policies equipping police officers with body cameras and patrol vehicles with dashboard cameras, strengthening public accountability and transparency.
Because safe communities begin with stable families, I fought for rent stabilization and stronger tenant protections, supported transitional and bridge housing with wraparound services, and advocated for additional housing opportunities for veterans, working families and people experiencing homelessness.
I have also stood up for Antioch’s health and environment by supporting actions to stop oil and gas drilling and shut down a dangerous gas pipeline running through our community.
Leadership Focused on People and Solutions
Serving on the City Council has never been about holding a title. It is about using the position to bring resources home, open the doors of local government and make sure the people most affected by City decisions have a voice in shaping them.
That means listening to renters struggling to stay in their homes. It means investing in young people before they are pushed into cycles of violence or incarceration. It means responding to homelessness with housing, services and dignity. It means supporting responsible public safety while demanding transparency and accountability. And it means creating more opportunities for families, workers and local businesses to thrive.
I am proud of the progress we have made, but I know our work is not finished.
Building Antioch’s Next Chapter
My vision is an Antioch where every neighborhood is safe, every family can afford a stable home, every young person has opportunities to succeed, and every resident can see themselves represented in their local government.
I will continue working to:

Support seniors, veterans, working families and people with disabilities.

Bring responsible development, good jobs and new economic opportunities to Antioch.

Make City Hall more transparent, accessible and accountable to the people it serves.
I still live in District 1. Antioch is my home, my family’s home and the community I want future generations to be proud to inherit.
We have shown what is possible when residents organize, speak up and demand something better. Now, I am ready to build on that progress and continue moving Antioch forward—with courage, experience and a commitment to leaving no one behind.
